Malus 'Rudolph' forms an upright tree. Emerges deep bronze-red, then turns dark bronze-green until deep into autumn. Flowers profusely with large, single pinkish-red flowers, 4-5 cm, carmine red when budding. Flowering period: May. Fruits more or less oblong, 15 x 18 mm, orange-yellow, in abundance and long retained. Not easily affected by scab.

Because of its small fruits, Malus 'Rudolph' is very suitable for gardens and public green spaces, occasionally also as an avenue tree on open green verges. Very hardy.
