Pterocarya fraxinifolia 'Heereplein' - Caucasian wingnut. Dutch selection with a more regular growth than the species. Grows wider than high. The dark grey trunk is grooved. Avenue and street tree for wider profiles, or as specimen and square tree. Not suitable for coastal planting. Grows well on moist soils, resistant to flooding.
