Quercus imbricaria, origin: Eastern North America. Imported in Europe in 1766. Tall tree with heightsup to 20-25 m. Initial growth rather pyramidal, later the crown widens to almost spherical. Generally, it has a relatively straight trunk. Elliptical to lancet-shaped leaf, 8-16 cm long, with a more or less wavy leaf margin. Shiny, dark green with
an auburn midrib. Very beautiful and strong park tree.
